How beautiful
Heaven will be,
the Kingdom of
that God whom we serve!
But how much more beautiful will it be
for us
if a multitude
of souls
follow us there,
won through
our hard work
and the merits
of Christ.
M. Teresa Spinelli
Guarcino
Casa di Preghiera
A house and school opened here in January
23rd 1869 because the Local Council had asked for it. It
was the first house to open after the Mother House and so
it remained until i953 when instead, the sisters obtained
the ex-convent of the Capuchin Fathers which has been held
up to this present day. By time the house flourished and
became a true youth centre of professional formation, cultural,
religious and recreational conventions. Until the 2nd World
War there was an orphanage for both girls and boys but now
the place is used for retreats conventions, spiritual exercises,
holidays and accommodation of school children in particular.
The house situated at a height of 900m and commanding a
fascinating view of a landscape of mountains and valleys,
affords, for individuals and groups, an ideal place for
reflection, prayer and retreats helped by the silence of
the environment. Being close to Campocatino a short distance
from the “stazione sciistica”, it affords a
fascinating place for school holiday camps and a favourable
place for exciting excursions or “white weeks”.
