How beautiful
Heaven will be,
the Kingdom of
that God whom we serve!
But how much more beautiful will it be
for us
if a multitude
of souls
follow us there,
won through
our hard work
and the merits
of Christ.

March 19th 1967, Feast of St. Joseph,
saw the foundation of “St. Monica House” of
the Augustinian Sisters Servants of Jesus and Mary in Clapham
and the settlement of a Community of four Maltese Sisters.
Two years later the place was enlarged by two other houses
and arranged to serve as a Hostel and a Nursery. To enable
the Sisters to give their service in a more efficient Apostolate.
In two years time the premises were properly reconstructed
and turned into a five – storey building, accommodating
a Convent, a Hostel with a capacity of 60 beds and a Nursery
for 26 Infants. The Community helps as best as they can
all those who present themselves, by providing them with
a good lodging and spiritually by the daily Liturgy.
