The house “Teresa Spinelli”
was opened in 1877 at the request of his Holiness Pope Pius
IX, to educate the girls of the nearby Tobacco Factory.
It was the Generelate house for the Congregation until 1962.
In 1989 it was enlarged by another wing. The Sisters here
run a Primary and Secondary School for girls. When school
is over, the sisters keep some of the
students for lunch and to do their homework until their
parents return from work to collect them. We Augustinians
Servants of Jesus and Mary like our Father St.Augustine
and our Foundress Sr. Maria Teresa Spinelli consider the
Apostolate of Education the best service we can render society
at all times.
